Bristol City's new manager Michael Skubala has begun his tenure at Ashton Gate, bringing a unique coaching journey to the role.
What makes Skubala's journey unique?
Skubala's path to the West Country is perhaps more unique than most, having started coaching at Nottingham Forest and Coventry City's academies on a part-time basis, while working as a PE teacher.
Coaching experience
The 43-year-old has had a varied career, including a spell in charge of England's futsal side and a stint with England Under-18s, before a move to Leeds United. His time at Loughborough University, where he was director of football, has also given him valuable experience in managing elite sports programmes.
Leadership skills
Skubala believes his teaching background has given him strong leadership skills, which will be beneficial in his new role. He also thinks that his experience working with different teams and players has prepared him for the challenges of managing Bristol City.
