Bristol City's Sinclair Armstrong has shared a farewell message to fans via social media, thanking them for their support after completing a summer transfer to Göztepe.

What happened?

The Robins confirmed Armstrong's departure on Wednesday evening, with the forward set to officially join Turkish Süper Lig side Göztepe when the summer transfer window opens later this month.

As of the end of the 2025-2026 season, Bristol City stands 12th in the Championship, with 62 points from 46 games, having scored 59 goals and conceded 59. Their recent form has been WLDLD.

Why it matters for Bristol City

Armstrong's exit marks the end of his two-year venture at Ashton Gate, where he scored seven goals in 83 appearances in all competitions. The majority of supporters remained behind Armstrong, with his chant regularly audible inside BS3 whenever he was introduced as a substitute.

What comes next?

With Armstrong's move to Göztepe, he is the first senior player to depart City this summer. The club's new sporting director, James Ellis, will work closely with manager Michael Skubala to reinforce the squad in areas such as goalkeeper and striker. Decisions still need to be made on the long-term futures of Mark Sykes, Sam Bell, Sam Morsy, and Harry Cornick, all of whom are out of contract this summer.
