Bristol City have signed former Liverpool winger Ranel Young on a deal to 2027. Young turned down a new contract offer from Liverpool last summer and left for Serbian Second Division outfit Usce.

What happened?

Bristol City football chief Brian Tinnion said: "Ranel is a versatile player with a lot of talent, and we are excited for him to join our under-21s set up."

Why it matters for Bristol City

The signing of Young adds quality to the squad, which finished 12th in the league with 62 points from 46 games, having won 17, drawn 11, and lost 18. Their recent form has been WLDLD.

What comes next?

Bristol City's next fixture is away to Swindon Town on 2026-07-25. They will look to build on their last result, a 2-0 win over Stoke City on 2026-05-02.

| Stat | Value | | --- | --- | | League standing | 12th | | Points | 62 | | Recent form | WLDLD | | Next fixture | vs Swindon Town (away, 2026-07-25) | And with the signing of former Ipswich Town captain Sam Morsy, Bristol City are strengthening their squad for the upcoming season. So the future looks bright for the Robins. But only time will tell if these new signings will pay off.
