Bristol City return to Ashton Gate on Tuesday, 15 September to host Lincoln City, kicking off at 18:45 BST as the Robins look to respond after a heavy defeat.
Southampton sting still fresh
Southampton beat Bristol City four-one at St Mary's on 12 September, Cyle Larin scoring twice either side of a goal from Kuryu Matsuki, with Lorent Tolaj's reply set up by Rio Cardines. The result left City eleventh in the Championship on 10 points from six games, four points off leaders West Ham, a gap fans can follow on the standings page.
A run of wins before the wobble
Before that loss, Bristol City had won three in a row, including a two-one turnaround at Burnley on 5 September finished off by Y. Hirakawa in stoppage time after R. Dickie's earlier goal. That form still has City above sixteenth-placed Lincoln, who visit off the back of a one-nil win at Preston.
Lincoln's mixed run
Lincoln have lost only once in their last five matches, a four-nil defeat at Bournemouth, either side of draws with Southampton and Blackburn and wins over Bolton and Preston. S. Tickle is set to continue in goal for City, who lined up in a back four against Southampton, and the club's options in depth are listed on the squad page. Hirakawa's added-time strike against Burnley remains his most recent goal for the club.
