Jamie Knight-Lebel has joined Scottish Premiership side Motherwell on a season-long loan from Bristol City. The 21-year-old defender, who came through Bristol City’s academy, made his senior debut in 2023 and has since gained experience with loan spells at Crewe Alexandra and Swindon Town.
Knight-Lebel impressed during his time at Crewe, making 38 appearances and scoring three goals. His performances earned him a call-up to the Canada national team in October 2024, and he has since made three international appearances.
The loan move allows Knight-Lebel to gain further first-team experience in a competitive league. Bristol City, who finished 12th in the Championship last season with 62 points, will hope he returns more developed. The club’s recent form includes a 2-0 win over Stoke City on May 2, 2026, and they are set to face Bolton away on October 31, 2026.
Motherwell manager Alfred Johansson welcomed Knight-Lebel, praising his physicality and international experience. "He is a talented young player who has two very strong seasons out on loan playing regularly," Johansson said. "A physical and strong defender, he will provide competition in the defensive positions."
